Apple has built up quite the monopoly.
It’s introduced lots of products built around the revolutionary iPhone that work incredibly and seamlessly with it. AppleTV meaning your television shows and movies happen by streaming from your phone to tv very handy! Or iCloud with its life saving automatic backup of your data. Photostream that backs up your photos and by opening iPhoto on your mac, automatically downloads them to your computer. So when an amazing new phone comes out (like the Samsung Galaxy S3) it’s not just a phone we need to think about replacing, it’s a whole lifestyle of products we built up around the convenience of beautifully marketed Apple toys costing slightly above average. we find ourselves stuck. I’m sure there are (cheaper!!) alternatives but to replace something you paid £99 for (AppleTV) with another £79 (Mobo Play) just for the sake of a new phone is expensive. then you think about how you deal with your photos. how will you backup all your photos and get them to your computer? By this time people would have decided against a great new phone for the convenience of the world they have already built up.
People always new Apple were forward thinking… But not in this kind of way.
Cool
